Rock of Ages on Broadway
June 13, 2012, 12:07 PM

Last night I went to Rock of Ages on broadway at the (tiny) Helen Hayes Theatre.
The experience is definitely different than most broadway shows. The first thing I noticed when we entered was jello shots and covered party cups to bring into the theater. They are ultimately trying to make it like you’re at a rock concert and you can even order drinks from waitresses during the show.
As far as the actual show, it’s a solid C+. It’s kind of like a combination 80s cover band meets Glee. The two leads were alright. The two actors who play the club owner and sound guy/manager steal the show.
All in all I would rather spend $14 to see the movie version than $125 to see the broadway.
